One of the easiest ways of attracting lots of attention is the Emotional Lead Magnet. It uses human psychology in the best of ways: it makes the participants feel better about themselves.

It does this in 2 ways: it either makes the poster look dumb (playing the underdog), or it makes everyone else look dumb. This works because we like complimenting ourselves and enforcing the idea that we are smarter / prettier / richer / more accomplished than everyone else.
Of course most of us are perfectly average, but very few like to hear that.
You will have seen their slogans: "98% will get this wrong!", "I didn't catch it, but maybe you will!", "Only intelligent people will get this!". And then their challenge is some mediocre, dumb riddle that should fool preschoolers only, if that.
The best are the mathematical riddles that combine additions, multiplications, and the number 0. These will keep people engaged for days, shouting at each other how dumb the other one is. The participants usually don't learn anything from it, and that isn't the point either. What is interesting to see is that each side is adamant about the truth of their solution: this allows for ongoing participation. And that's exactly what a good lead magnet should do.
Thus, for your next meme, try an emotional lead magnet, and let us know the results!
