Asked the student: "Wise man, we worship many deities. How is it they became deity? Is it possible for us to become deity as well?"

Answered the teacher: "The tapestry woven by the creator allowed for beings to grow with different amounts of influence. It also allowed for beings to increase their influence. Basically, deity are those beings in our vicinity with the largest influence."

Asked the student: "What is this influence you speak of? How can we see it?"

Answered the teacher: "Influence can be many things. It can be intellectual: me teaching you, you asking questions, results in both of us thinking. It can be physical: either of us moving a chair, the sun shining light, waves hitting the beach, our earth pulling in the moon, a doctor's healing. It can be social: trade, politics, raising children, increasing moral awareness, hunting. It can be all that and much more."

Asked the student: "Then how do deity influence us? And does it go both ways?"

Answered the teacher: "It does go both ways: we pray and deity answer. If they feel like it. We worship and deity notices us. At times."

Continued the student: "And how do I become a deity?"

Responded the teacher: "Aren't we all from the gods already? However we can increase our influence by continuing to learn, to experience, and to live."

Insisted the student: "What if that takes too long?"

Answered the teacher: "Then you must learn the value of patience."

With that, the teacher left the student to ponder.
